Everyone has fun taking flowers to Mary and being together in honor of our Mother Mary.
Every year we celebrate our Mother Mary by having a May Crowning event as a group. How we do this is up to the organizer of the event. We have gone to mass and processed with flowers for Mary in the entrance procession or had our event at a home where we have a procession around the property and crowned a statue of Mary. If having the event at a home, we usually recite a rosary as a group after the procession. In either case, potluck food is shared and the children have an opportunity to play together. Sometimes a craft in honor of Mary is also provided for the children to complete. While the event always occurs in May, the actual date depends on when the most members are available to participate.
